Skye Sailing Club

The present 'Skye Sailing Club' is formed from the old 'Portree Sailing Club' and the old 'Skye Sailing Club' which was originally based in Armadale at the south of the Island.

The two old clubs amalgamated in 1998 to form a single club based in Portree.

In 2014 the Club bought the derilict boatshed on the Scorybreac shore, refurbished and extended it to enhance the Club's shoreside facilities with electricity, water, kitchen, classroom, shower and a loo. In 2015 the Club became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and in 2016, when the building work had finished, rejuvinated its fleet of boats. This was all done with the help of Coastal Communities Funding.

The aim of the club is to promote and facilitate the sport of sailing in and around the Isle of Skye.

The Club has an open-door policy encouraging anyone from any background to take up and enjoy our sport. One of the main ways we keep the club so inclusive is by keeping all fee's low – membership and course fees.
