Midsummer in the Minch and Gairloch Big Boat Regatta
In an effort to appeal to all keelboat sizes we intend to run the Midsummer in the Minch race during the Friday afternoon and evening arriving in Gairloch Friday night. Then Saturday and Sunday there will be a regatta in the bays and around the islands and buoys of Gairloch. A full, race-filled weekend with a Minch prize, a Regatta prize and overall event prize. So far the general interest noises are good!
This combined event will increase the amount of sailing return on a journey made and Gairloch Boat Club and Skye Sailing Club hope you will lend your support to this new event.
Keelboat passage races through the historic 'pirate infested' waters around Skye, Raasay, the Crowlin and the Scottish mainland.

Vice Admiral's Cup
We have requested to the Games Committee that they let us make more of their race and add value to raise this brilliant day on the water to the standard of the food and drink supplied at the end! The proposal is still awaiting a final okay but plan is three races, starting around 1100 and finishing around 1600 with three shorter round the cans in sight of the massed crowds on the pierhead.
Hopefully this will make the need of a day off work and the journey from outwith to Portree even more appealing and the fleet will grow.
Round Raasay Pursuit
Your own boat handicap start time and a fixed end time… can you pass the boats in front or stop those behind passing you. Different race dynamic and normally a great test of pure sailing ability rather than crafty race tactics.
