Congratulations to Sacha, Corrina, Chloe, Chris, Kenneth and Murphy for successfully circumnavigating the island of Raasay in open dinghies. It took almost 12 hours and in completing the trip unaided they collected donations towards Sacha's charity trip to Kenya.
It is not too late to pleadge support via a donation – more detail is here about the RAASAY DINGHY CHALLENGE – a stern challenge worthy of a donation, however big or small.
SAILING IS ON – AT LEAST IT'S NOT SNOWING... YET!
In 2016 Skye Sailing Club upgragded their facilities and equipment –The Scorrybreac on the north shore of Portree Harbour now has a refurbished boatshed and clubhouse with teaching and conference room; on the foreshore a new fleet of dinghies enhances the Club's training opportunities in sailing, rowing and powerboating. In addition to the Club's usual summer evening sailing sessions and summer sailing school we will be adding some weekend dinghy sailing and rowing which will extend into the winter when weather allows...
If you have always wanted to make more use of the harbour and see Portree and the Cuillin from a different perpspective, get in touch, come along and give it a go!
It is on your doorstep and really is extra ordinary.
We look forward to seeing you on the water!
Here's a video of some Cadet summer sailing highlights – with special thanks to the Peatbogs!
